Slavín is one of the sights that should not be missed by any of the visitors to our city. It is located on a hill overlooking the Old Town and, together with Bratislava Castle and Kamzík, is one of its main landmarks. It is a military cemetery and a memorial to Red Army soldiers who fell during the liberation of Bratislava in April 1945. The central part of the memorial is dominated by a monument with an obelisk and a statue of a Red Army soldier holding a flag, the edges of the memorial grounds are lined with statues, plaques and greenery. In addition to its history, it also offers its visitors an excellent view and the opportunity to walk through the adjacent streets of the Old Town.
