Devínska kobyla represents an important part of the natural wealth of Bratislava region and western Slovakia as a whole. It is notable for its fauna and flora (it is home to more than 1100 species of plants) and it also has an extraordinary geological diversity. On the top of Devínská kobyla peak you can find the remains of a missile base from the Cold War era and a lookout tower, from which you can enjoy the view of the whole of Bratislava and its surroundings. In good weather conditions one can see as far as the first peaks of Austrian Alps. Its visitors can also take advantage of the proximity of Devín village, known for the castle, after which it is named, the memorial to the victims of the Iron Curtain and other attractions and landmarks.
