It is located on a hill overlooking the Old Town and, together with <em>Bratislava Castle<\/em> and <em>Kamz\u00edk<\/em>, is one of its main landmarks. It is a military cemetery and a memorial to Red Army soldiers who fell during the liberation of Bratislava in April 1945. The central part of the memorial is dominated by a monument with an obelisk and a statue of a Red Army soldier holding a flag, the edges of the memorial grounds are lined with statues, plaques and greenery.
